Overview

The Magic of Christmas runs entirely on donations and is proud to have one of the lowest overheads of any registered charity of its kind in Canada. Like many other charitable organizations in Calgary,  we are privileged to work with many outstanding private and corporate citizens who support us in so many ways.  We are grateful for any and all contributions of time, items, or money that can be provided. Thank you for remembering us in your annual giving plans!

Financial donations

We accept financial donations at any time of the year.

Official income tax receipts are available upon request for donations over $10; please include name and address if this is required.  Standard receipts are also available for corporations upon request. Cheques or money orders can be sent to :

We appreciate knowing if the donation was raised from an event or group effort, so that we may recognize the entire group in the wording of our thank you letter.

Gift Items

We collect, sort and distribute new gift items from private and corporate citizens.

 Items that are especially needed include:

• ADULTS: soaps/bath products, new books, new slippers, game books, tools, mitts / outerwear, purses, makeup, perfume / cologne, jewelry, gift certificates, music equipment, sports equipment, camera/film, watches, craft supplies/kits, board games, cards
  
• TEENS: Walkman / Discman, CDs / cassettes, gift certificates, stuffed animals, makeup, fun scarves/mitts, hair accessories, journals, writing sets, brand-name socks/hats, stereo/ghetto blaster, key chains, belts, sports equipment, computer stuff, electronic games, craft items, remote control cars, model kits, board games, Crazy Carpets / sleds, skateboards, brand-name clothes / accessories
  
• KIDS: toys (of course!), batteries/powered toys, stuffed animals, Barbies, dolls/doll clothes, hair and body accessories, Lego, Crazy Carpets / sleds
  
• INFANTS: diapers, gift certificates, formula, new baby outfits, soothers, rattles, crib toys, crib accessories, stroller, books on infant care

Donations of items can be made at the various collection boxes around the city during November and December.

We are also able to schedule a personal pick-up time for larger amounts of item donations.  Store closeouts, Christmas toy over-stock clearouts, and other retail donations are very welcomed.

Our sponsors donate nearly all of the facilities and equipment that we use including donation box space, vehicles for the Christmas Eve delivery, radio and communication equipment, and use of office / workshop space. Sponsors are the backbone of The Magic of Christmas - we wouldn't be able to visit so many homes and brighten the lives of needy Calgarians without their invaluable assistance.
